Kasama
General Information
Kasama is the capital city of the Northern Province of Zambia. It is located in the Northern parts of the country and has a total population of approximately 120 000 residents. This city acts as the commercial hub of the province and has an airport which was used during World War I.
The native inhabitants of Kasama are the Bemba people and their Paramount Chief Chitimukulu has a residence outside the town. The city has many businesses that will cater to every tourist’s need, including banks, internet cafés and a golf course.
The town is a commercial hub with banks, markets, services and an airport, as it sits at the centre of a road network which also reaches the Luapula Province in the West, Mporokoso in the North-West, Kayambi in the North-East and Isoka in the East.
