Lundazi
General Information
Lundazi is a town located in the Eastern Province of Zambia. It is located in the most Eastern parts of the country on the border of Malawi and near where the Lundazi and Mzuzi Rivers met. The town is named after the Lundazi River, part of now Lundazi Dam.
An Englishman named Errol Button began building a Norman-style castle were these rivers met in 1948. This castle and many other similarly styled buildings can be found in Lundazi.
It is home to an airstrip, schools and a hotel in the form of a Norman castle.
The major language spoken in Lundazi is Tumbuka and the major tribes are Tumbuka, Chewa and Ngoni. Agriculture and trading are the main sources of income. Most of the traders are Zambians of Asian origin. Lundazi has a popular name 'Box One Kanele'
