Lusaka
General Information
Lusaka is the capital and also the largest city in the Lusaka Province of Zambia. It is located in the central parts of the country and has a total population of approximately 1.7 million residents. The city is situated on the plateau found in the country and this is the commercial hub of Zambia. The majority of Lusaka’s residents speak English, but the Nyanja and Bemba languages are also spoken in the area.
Lusaka became the official capital city of the newly independent Zambia in 1964. The city is home to the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport for those tourists who like to plan internationally and see as many places in as little time possible.
