General Information

Mpika District is in the Muchinga Province of Zambia. Mpika is the capital of this district, and is located at the junction to Kasama and Mbala and the Tanzam highway to Tanzania.  Taken from the 2000 census, this district had a population of 146,196.

It has a railway station on the TAZARA Railway roughtly 5 km away.
